Questions What is 9 to Die? A free browser survivors-like about big-company office life. You survive a 16-minute quarter while a horde of meetings, tickets and mandatory modules closes in, and your skills fire on their own.
Is 9 to Die free? Yes, with no ads and no sign-up wall. Any paid extras later would be profiles and cosmetics, never power.
Is it out yet? Yes. It is free to play now at 9todie.com, in your browser, with nothing to install. This is version 0.1.0, and it is still being improved.
How deep does it go? 9 departments, 12 floors, 52 bosses, 63 kinds of enemy, 99 skills, 75 run items, 125 achievements worth 3,000 points, and gear, talents and Stretch Goals on top.
Are the enemies real people? No. They are rituals, processes and systems with bodies: the Stand-Up, the Change Request, the Portal. The company is the butt of the joke, and the worker is the hero.
How do I play? Move with WASD or the arrow keys. Your skills fire on their own. Collect XP, take a card at each level, and survive to the final boss at 16:00.
What is the best role? On the numbers, Facilities comes first on our calculated tier list, which weighs damage and health equally. It is arithmetic rather than a verdict, and the tier list shows the working.
How do I open more floors? Win the floor before it. Floors open per department, so each department climbs the building on its own.
What does PTO do? Accrued PTO buys stars for your gear. A run pays it whether you win or not.
What are achievement points for? They buy 6 perks and unlock companions, lanyards and appearances along the way. There are 3,000 points in all.
Where is my save kept? In your browser, on that device, unless you choose to sign in, which also keeps it on your other devices. Options, Saves makes an export code that moves it elsewhere.
Why will the game not load? Usually hardware acceleration, an old graphics driver or a blocked network. The Fix Loading guide goes through it in order. Read the guide.
Can I play at work? We could not possibly comment. Pressing Esc twice swaps the tab title and shows a spreadsheet, and Low-Key Mode draws the game in spreadsheet greys.
Does co-op work over the internet? Not yet. It needs a relay server, and the public site does not run one yet.
Is this guide up to date with the game? Reference pages are generated from the game's own data, so they change when it does. This is version 0.1.0.
Why are there no screenshots? Not yet approved for a public page. Empty frames mark where they will go.
