Co-op

Updated · Version 0.1.0 · Update notes

How does co-op work?

Up to five people play one run together. One browser is the host and runs the game; the others send their moves through a relay and draw what the host sends back. That relay is not on the public site yet, so for now the Co-op button says it is not available.

Dialling in. Please remain on mute.

The rest of this page describes co-op as it is built, ready for when the relay opens. This page will say when it does.

How do I start or join a meeting?

Open Co-op from the menu. To host, fill in Book a Meeting with a name, an optional password, a floor and a target difficulty, and tick Private to hide it from the list. To join, pick from Open Meetings, or type the five-letter code and the password if there is one.

Team Sync. No agenda.

  1. Host: Book a Meeting, then share the five-letter code.
  2. Guests: Join by code, or pick it from Open Meetings.
  3. Everyone: Press Ready.
  4. Host: Start the meeting.

What happens once everyone is in?

Everyone presses Ready, and the host can start only once all have. The host can also run a Ready Check, which clears everyone else's Ready. Each player brings the department they picked on the menu, along with their own gear and talents. Boss health rises 60 percent per extra player.

Please confirm you have read the pre-read.

What happens when someone goes down?

Stand next to a fallen teammate for three seconds to bring them back. That also counts as a rescue, the same as freeing a stuck coworker, and a share of achievements track those. The run only ends when everyone is down. If the host leaves, everyone goes back to their desks.

A teammate has left the meeting. Thanks for your flexibility!

What about Today's Calendar and Team Channel?

Today's Calendar is one short seeded run a day, identical for everyone, with no gear or talents. Team Channel is a private leaderboard kept entirely inside a link, with no accounts. The link opens the game on 9todie.com, so anyone you send it to can open it and join the board.

The same day for everyone, everywhere, regrettably.

Today's Calendar runs at 3.2 times speed, so the quarter takes about 5 minutes. Nothing leaves your browser until you paste the link somewhere.
